So I watched the Netflix version of Death Note

When I first heard about this new version of Death Note taking place in Seattle Washington I wasn't really bothered by it too much because we already have a Japanese live-action Adaptation already. I kept an open mind about it. I crossed my fingers being hopeful that just MAYBE the Americanized version can be fun and interesting while keeping things slightly different while retaining that Death Note feel.

Well, I thought they delivered the mood, and Ryuk was awesome but the overall structure was forced. I am someone who read the original Manga and never watched any of the anime adaptations or anything. Read up to like 7 volumes.

My first complaint is that "Light Turner" was such an American teen boy stereotype. He was another stupid whiney teenager who was dumb and resorted to cheating and paying other people to do his tests. He was a failing student and wasn't even in any sort of athletic club. He was a boring loner.

The original "Light Yagami" was truly the alpha male who pretty much was an amazing student and was athletic. For them changing the backstory of this character is beyond me, but I felt like it added no significance to the overall story. Both Turner and Yagami all had the same end-game, killing people with the Death Note without getting caught.

The thing that made Yagami interesting is the fact that you knew he wanted to kill people for fun and see how far he got. This white Light Turner dude just felt like he just had to do it, without any real emotional reasons other than killing his Mom's killer, and even that didn't get me that excited.

I think the main problem is that they could have easily fleshed out the story in a TV series, which I originally thought it was. It's just one short movie.

The Death Note creator is known to have very good character development and I can agree on it since I did read his other Manga called Bakuman, but without fleshing the characters the movie is boring and it ultimately failed.

It could have gone somewhere if it was a TV show to really flesh the stories and characters out but it was just a sample of what it could have been.
Give it a pass. Read the manga. I even heard the anime is good too.

League of Legends has a ton of K-Pop references

For those of you who live under a rock League of Legends is one of the worlds largest and most popular multiplayer PC games at the moment. It is backed up by a strong esports community and is especially known to have the best players from Korea. With that being said though, it would be a no-brainer to include K-Pop references in League of Legends. Certain Champions have various skins you can purchase and included with them is their own exclusive dances which ties to a lot of K-Pop music videos. Check out the video below.

Want to revoke EA's Star War's License? Sign this Massive Petition

My face when I realized there's thousands of people who signed it already For those of you who are unaware, In 2013 EA has partnered with Disney to develop Star Wars video games. However, EA's newest Star Wars game Battlefront II has hit a HUEG-MONGOUS controversy where their entire content of progression has heavily relied on pay to win mechanics. It was more popularized on /r/StarWarsBattlefront when they realized you can become better at someone else in the game by buying loot crates in-game with real cash. You can however earn credits by playing but compared to purchasing loot crates in the game it will be a lot quicker for people who purchased it which isn't fair. If Battlefront 2 was free I'd be ok with it but the game has a massive 60 dollar pricetag. Now they're taking it a step further by introducing a change.org petition and as of this writing they're at 65K. If you want revoke EA's license (which I hope you do) please do so over here.

Nidhogg 2 Review

Well this time around they heavily improved upon the formula. And one of the most obvious notes is it improved on the graphics quite significantly. Instead of simple 8-bit graphics it seems like it reached to a more 16-bit approach, showing off even more silliness off of the game. From the first Nidhogg you didn't have much customization of your main character. You can add a bunch of silly clothing to him/her according to your taste. I hope they will add more customizations in the near future I like it quite a lot. And one of the more intriguing additions to the sequel is more weapons. Unlike the first you only had a rapier. This one has added a Broadsword, Dagger, and a new ranged weapon, bows. For singleplayer content everything is the same you have to go through 10 levels and win. But I liked knowing they added more detailed levels to keep things interesting. Now for multiplayer, you got regular matchmaking and a newly implemented ranked mode.
