These based Developers located in Indonesia AnomanStudio gave me a free spankin' new Steam copy of Orbiz. Truly a blessing among souls. Thank you cuties. Muah.
FUCK NO. Give me all the seizures that I can get, Orbiz. |
Kill zombies, destroy the number amount of spawners needed to stop the zombie onslaught and enter the portal to go on to the next level. Simple? No way in fucking hell. |
First and foremost what I like about the game is the sheer amount of 80's aethestics this game has. The music, the low-poly design is fucking gorgeous and love the 80's theme to it. The story isn't that great but it makes the story much more interesting. It's just a bunch of kids who open a book and travel to another dimension. You can't get anything else 80's than that.
Keep in mind this game is currently in Early Access on Steam so there's plenty of shit to work on, and of course there's a bit of minor flaws that bothered me a bit, but doesn't hinder the overall experience of this arcade twin-stick shooter.
First of all, I felt like the enemies had too much HP. It kinda got boring shooting the same zombies over and over again. Most twin-stick shooter games have very little health and had twice the amount of enemies, just to keep you on your toes. Also, I would like to hold down the button instead of constantly tapping my left and right trigger buttons.. my fingers grew tired, sheesh.
Also, in the beginning of the single player level I felt like to counter balance the amount of HP the enemy has the player should have plenty of ammo and weapons he can snatch at his disposal. Just my opinion.
They threw in 3 different types of classic minigames that pay obvious homage to classic games of the 80's era. Lets see if you can tell which game it copies from. I really thought this was a nice touch to this game. You do have to unlock, however.
Lastly, since this game is an old-school themed twin-stick shooter I felt like it desperately needs some sort of leaderboards. Also, possibly a Time Attack or Survival mode where you just try to last as long as you can would probably would make it a great game to play. But so far the entire game is in Early Access and the developers are still working on it.
Overall, I enjoyed the game and the 80's aesthetics. The game is spot-on with 80's culture everywhere. I love the sound design, music and especially the low-poly design to it. The game is brimming with personality and passion into this game and I do want to give them a lovely shoutout because I honestly think this game will go somewhere, especially the developers.
I give it a 3/5.
