Nidhogg 2 Review

Well this time around they heavily improved upon the formula. And one of the most obvious notes is it improved on the graphics quite significantly. Instead of simple 8-bit graphics it seems like it reached to a more 16-bit approach, showing off even more silliness off of the game.

From the first Nidhogg you didn't have much customization of your main character. You can add a bunch of silly clothing to him/her according to your taste. I hope they will add more customizations in the near future I like it quite a lot.

And one of the more intriguing additions to the sequel is more weapons. Unlike the first you only had a rapier. This one has added a Broadsword, Dagger, and a new ranged weapon, bows.

For singleplayer content everything is the same you have to go through 10 levels and win. But I liked knowing they added more detailed levels to keep things interesting.

Now for multiplayer, you got regular matchmaking and a newly implemented ranked mode. So if you want to take this game even more seriously this will be the perfect opportunity to smash some other players.

Overall, the formula of Nidhogg has improved significantly with better graphics, better gameplay mechanics, more weapons, more modes. There's no real reason to play the first Nidhogg. The sequel offers everything the first one needed to be.

If you want a fun night of you and your friends playing competitive games you have to pick up Nidhogg 2 it's well worth the price.

5/5

Also shoutout to Messhof for giving me a Steam review copy! Much appreciated.

Slice, Dice & Rice - Review

Slice, Dice & Rice is a very simple fighting game that reminds me of those SNES games you saw at a Hollywood Video rental store and you looked at the cover and go, "This looks cool but I've never heard of it, maybe I should play it?" You go home and enjoy the eye-popping graphics but you just didn't have fun. It didn't quite exactly sucked but just wasn't blowing you out of the water either. It just wasn't a memorable experience. This is exactly what this game is. The game mechanics are simple. You have 3 attacks and a parry button. You got a vertical, horizontal, and heavy attack. No health bars. One attack and you're dead meat, sucka. First of all, the graphics look super cool and RADICAL, DUDE. I love the flashy graphics and feels very simple to the eyes. However, the gameplay felt very barebones to me and it quickly lost its flavor. Their reasons however is to casualize the fighting game flavor so that more people can access i...

My Top Ten Favorite Games of 2017

10.  Comedy Night (PC) Comedy Night is a game I almost didn't recommend because it felt more like a heavily relied social game experiment. You can sing, debate, and obviously make some jokes to spit on the mic with other users. Game exploded at launch and the developer is highly active on the game. Great to fucking around with people and just socialize in. On top of that it's cheap. 9.  Sky Rogue  (PC) Sky Rogue is your basic flight sim arcade game however has some very attractive low-poly visuals and procedurally generated missions. On top of that, has Steam Workshop to download other peoples aircrafts. I've downloaded Raiden aircrafts to the X-Wing. Great replay value at a decent price. Just got out of Early Access on Steam too. 8.  Iron Crypticle  (PC) A simple arcade game that's reminiscent of Robotron and Smash TV. You're an armored hero going through procedurally generated dungeons destroying an onslaught of baddie. The visuals ...
